All of the lights

I've always had a fascination with the views that the Cape Town has to offer, especially when all is dark and the city is illuminated.
From points like Table Mountain, De Waal drive, even Walmer Estate, Cape Town looks like one big Christmas tree - lit up for all to revel in.

On my drive down De Waal drive every morning, I can't help but regret the fact that I never have my camera with me to capture the beauty of the Mother City with its shades of black, orange and yellow.

So I decided that one night I would venture to the city with that very goal in mind. And though the wind howled and tried to blow me over as I stood in the cold and dark with camera and tripod, I was determined to get my shots.

I did... and this is what I saw:

Shots from De Waal Drive:

The red and orange lights in the picture below are the lights of passing cars:

Somewhere in Vredehoek?:

On the way to Table Mountain:

Shots from the area just below Table Mountain:

Beauty through the trees:

I did very minimal editing on some pictures, and none on others, because I wanted people to see what I saw the time I captured the night.
