Open shoot

I was able to do my first open photo shoot this month, in collaboration with Cry Baby Entertainment.

Cry Baby Entertainment is a brand focusing on entertainment through singing, dancing and modelling.

They offered open shoots at a minimal fee, to anyone interested. Those participating received edited pictures on a CD, that they could add to their portfolio.

Some of the guys and girls attending have been training with Cry Baby Entertainment to become models - and the training really paid off! They looked as if they've been doing it for years!

Here are just a few of the pictures taken on the day:

These shoots are happening at least once a month, and that makes me smile because they are SO MUCH FUN!!! :)

Child's Play

I, personally, love giving the gift of photos (the gift of ever-lasting memories), so you can imagine how excited I was when a friend approached me to take a picture that would ultimately be a gift for her father.

THE PROJECT: Photograph 9 very excited grandchildren - aged 7 months to 8 years old - for their grandfather's 60th birthday present.

So we headed to the park with a camera, some props and loads of enthusiasm.

All I can say is WOW!!! Trying to get 9 different tiny personalities to work together was more of a challenge than I thought. Although... there were more funny moments than anything else.

 Out of 225 photos taken, only 5 made it:

And out of the 5, there could be only ONE!

And in the end....

... it all worked out!

These streets

Walking the streets of Salt River it's amazing what you can find.

The grafitti and even the deteriorating buildings, providing cracks of art, leave you with beautiful backdrops for the most interesting photos.

My two "models" were nice enough to let me experiment while they struck a pose.

A day at the races

 In January of this year I was asked to take some pictures at a local car show in Plumstead.

Though I could not fully appreciate the beautiful machines on display, I could appreciate the time and effort the owners put into looking after their "babies".

And they were, indeed, beautiful!

Women's Empowerment Network Photobooth

On Saturday 6 April 2013 I had the pleasure of hosting a "table" at the WEN (Women's Empowerment Network) market day in Rondebosch.

I decided to have a little fun and host a photo booth (of sorts) - FUN does not even begin to describe it!

Those attending the market were able to have their photo taken with props of their choice, get it printed and take it home - oh, the memories! :)

It was so nice to meet and interact with all the different... uhm... posers...

There were the BFF's;

 the Groupies;

 the Cutey pies;

 the Families;

the Siblings;

and ... uhm... the (self-proclaimed) Weirdos

and this guy...

 All in all a great experience and first photo booth was a great success!

The WEN market happens once a month and I plan to bring the photo booth fun to every event! :)
