Scarf styling book launch

 

For those hijabis out there being able to twist and turn and plait and pin a scarf can sometimes become quite a daunting task.

But sometimes someone like Shahida Salie comes along to give you a hand.

 

Shahida Salie has written her second scarf styling book that shows you exactly how to get those intricate styles we all see the more skilled hijabis wearing.

 

I was able to photograph the launch of this second book, this month, at her masquerade themed event.

 There was a fashion show, entertainment and loads of wonderful prizes on the day.

It was a wonderful event promoting a wonderful product.

Class of '89

"Like branches of a tree our lives may grow in different directions, but our roots remain as one."

This was very evident when I photographed a primary school reunion. The attendees had not seen each other since they left school, but they seemed to have picked up where they left off - as if they had been together ever since.

What was supposed to be a two-hour photo booth booking turned into an all night comedic event (for me - they were hilarious)!!

Though all grown up... the one thing I can say is - once they all got together again, it seemed they were back in primary school - very funny to watch!

The organizers made sure there were games.. and prizes too...

 

They had a beautiful tribute to one of their fellow class mates who had since passed...

 

 

And of course, a group hug for one of their teachers!!

 

 

 

 

So much laughter...

Still hoping to get a correct answer... ha ha

 

And then there were the photo booth moments...

A wedding booth for the Nero's

 

When one of your oldest friends gets married, how do you NOT host a booth at her big day??

 

 

So many of us have waited so long for this wonderful lady to tie the knot, and I guess the timing just wasn't right.

 

 

But like they say... when you know, you know! Because not long after she met her (now) hubby, they were saying their I do's (or at least he was).

 

 

So happy for her!!!
